Wooden sofa sets bring timeless charm into any outdoor area. Using natural materials, such as teak, allows wooden garden sofas to effortlessly fit into any outdoor area. Our wooden sofa sets are made from either acacia or teak and can withstand any weather conditions. When left exposed to the element the wood will age to a beautiful silver colour. As wood is a natural product you will notice aging, this involves the wood changing colour and fine lines and cracks. None of these things affect the strength of the product. Wooden Outdoor Sofa
Wooden garden sofa sets offer a timeless look that enriches your outdoor space. Our selection of wooden sofas is crafted from premium hardwoods such as teak or acacia. Natural materials bring a sense of warmth and character to any area. The key benefits of wood garden furniture are durability as well as its classic look.   When choosing wooden garden furniture, the two most popular hardwoods are teak and acacia.  Teak:  Teak is a premium tropical hardwood used in high-quality furniture. It is known for its durability and innate resistance to the elements. Untreated teak is golden brown, and the older the hardwood is, the darker it will be. When teak is used in outdoor furniture, the outer layer will eventually turn grey. This is the natural process in which the wood protects itself from the rain and sun. Teak has a dense grain and smooth texture. Combine this with its superior weatherproof qualities and it is ideal for those looking for luxurious wooden sofas.   Acacia: Acacia wood is a cost-effective alternative to teak, whilst still providing good durability. Acacia is naturally dense and hardwearing, so it performs well outdoors when properly treated. Our collection of acacia furniture features a light PU coating for additional protection. The fine-grain and golden-brown tones bring an earthy feel to any garden. This style easily complements both rustic and more modern outdoor settings. Acacia benefits from regular maintenance, such as seasonal oiling, which helps protect against moisture and UV rays. Acacia is valued for its affordability and versatility. If you’re looking for furniture that has natural beauty and durability without the higher price tag of teak then acacia is a great choice for you. Unlike synthetic materials, wood brings an organic presence into your garden. Whilst synthetic materials require less upkeep, with the right care, wooden sofas can last for many seasons. Wooden garden sofas require more care than synthetic materials. This is to preserve their appearance and structural integrity. When caring for wooden furniture, there are a few things to consider. At Just Garden Sofas, we would always advise you to avoid any harsh cleaners or harsh brushes. Harsh chemicals will damage or even stain the surface of the wood. Similarly, hard-bristle brushes or a pressure washer could damage the furniture. It’s important to keep your furniture clean as any marks could stain. If you spill things onto your furniture, such as food, you should try to clean this as soon as possible. Use a clean soft cloth and mild soapy water to clean the surface. If you have a stubborn mark, you could try to use a soft-bristle brush to remove or dislodge the dirt. If you choose to leave your table alone and notice a buildup of marks, you can opt for sanding your furniture. Sanding will remove the first layer and any surface-level marks, and then you can choose to treat or seal the wood. We advise against covering wooden garden furniture. If you use a protective furniture cover the wood underneath will begin to sweat. This will lead to a buildup of mould and mildew. Wood is a natural material and should be left outside, exposed to the elements. Teak and acacia will naturally age; you will notice fine lines and a colour change. None of these changes affects the integrity of your wooden sofa set and wooden accessories. Q: Can I leave wooden furniture outside? A: Yes, wooden furniture should always be left outside. It is a natural material designed to be left outdoors. Q: Will the wood fade or change colour? A: Yes, wooden furniture will change colour over time. It will naturally fade to silver. You can maintain the colour by applying oils or sealants. Q: Do I have to treat my wooden furniture? A: No, this is entirely up to you. You can choose to leave the wood untreated or you can apply oils to maintain the original colour.Material Advantages: A closer look at teak & acacia
